Growing up in the rugged ranching and coal-mining town of Gillette, Wyoming, I discovered running almost by accident—what started as a way to get stronger for basketball quickly became a lifelong passion. The simplicity, freedom, and camaraderie of the sport hooked me, leading to national championships in high school, a collegiate career at Stanford, and a professional journey across track, road, and trail. Along the way, I’ve experienced both exhilarating highs and significant challenges—injuries, loss, and setbacks that ultimately shaped my perspective on resilience, movement, and the power of community. Guided by world-class coaches, I learned that coaching isn’t just about performance; it’s about meeting athletes where they are and helping them grow. Now based in Breckenridge, Colorado, with my husband and three kids, I’m pursuing my own training while coaching athletes of all backgrounds—whether you’re chasing high-performance goals, overcoming injury, starting fresh, or navigating pregnancy and postpartum. Lisa Renee is passionate about helping athletes of all ages and backgrounds to chase excellence in a positive environment focused on goal attainment. Her specialties include functional movement and mobility, sport-specific program design, endurance training, injury recovery, and power and speed training. As an athlete herself, Lisa Renee’s focus in on functional strength and multi-disciplinary training such as mountain running, uphill skiing, adventure racing, road cycling and mountain biking. Her roots as an athlete began on high school cross country and track & field teams, and she then turned her athletic passions to collegiate and professional rodeo as a barrel racer. As an adult, she has competed as a professional road cyclist, including racing on domestic professional teams and as an ultra-endurance cyclist. Her cycling accomplishments include winning a National Hill Climbing Championship, winning the 12-Hour World Time Trial Championship, 2nd place in the 500-mile World Time Trial Championship, and winning the Race Across America on a 4-person women’s team. She and her husband Doug now race as Team Steamboat in multi-day adventure races, involving mountain biking, trail running, white water boating, and orienteering. They also enjoy ski mountaineering with their family in the beautiful mountains around their mountain home in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
